Rin possesses blue eyes and the supernatural ability to control beasts, causing her to be shunned and mistreated as a cursed child in the past. She becomes an apprentice immortal in the realm of the immortals and finally begins to enjoy the first happiness of her life—only to be banished from the realm due to a lack of talent. In order to return to the immortal realm, Rin is tasked with a trial: to search for the "Ring of the Immortal Maiden," which is said to be located in the inner palace of the Golden Tripod Kingdom. Meanwhile, within the inner palace, unsettling incidents continue to occur surrounding the selection of the Hua Fei, the consort candidates for the Crown Prince, Shiki. Rin accidentally has her supernatural ability discovered by Shiki, and her fate begins to move.
