In the past, Ju-In, a promising baseball scout, meets high schooler Ki-Jeong, who dreams of becoming a pro player. While everyone else points out Ki-Jeong's limitations, Ju-In is the only one who recognizes his genius potential instantly and offers sincere advice to keep him from quitting. To Ki-Jeong, Ju-In was the only person in his entire life who believed in him exactly as he was.
"Ki-Jeong, your hands and feet are both bigger than mine. So youll grow even taller than me too."
But their happiness is short-lived. Without a single word, Ju-In steps down from his scouting position and vanishes completely.
5 years later-
Ju-In returns to his old club under a new title as a strategic analyst manager, and there, he runs back into Ki-Jeong, whos grown into a pro baseball player beyond recognition. Ju-In is flustered by how much Ki-Jeong has changed, yet he can't seem to look away...
"The number I couldn't get back then... can I have it now?"
Their time, which had stood still with longing, begins to move once again on the burning mound.
